You may ask yourself, what makes a Bitty Bows Boutique bow different
from others? There is no shortage of bows being sold on the internet,
so without seeing a bow up close it is hard to know what you are paying
for. My experience has been that you get what you pay for when it comes
to bows. It takes great time to make a professionally made, quality bow
that will withstand wear and tear. Allow me to take you behind the
scenes a little, and describe the process of making my bows.
Hours and hours of experience, practice and perfection have gone into
each step in the process of making my bows. I am a perfectionist, and
it shows in the way I produce each order. It starts with the clip. I
have tested and trialed many different styles of clips until I found
the distributor that provided the best quality and the style that would
provide optimal hold. Some were not shaped right, some were too soft of
a metal, and others had a big gap that allowed hair to slide out. I
have thrown away thousands of clips because only the best and most perfect clips will make the most perfect bows!
Ribbon quality is important as well. I order my ribbon in huge bolts
(yes bolts) through two manufacturers that I have found to have
exceptional quality as well as color selection. Currently, I have
around 300 bolts of ribbon in different colors and sizes! This is not
the type of ribbon you will find at your local craft store. Before the
ribbon ever makes it to the clip, it is professionally sealed so that
it will not fray. I never use fray check, as others do, as I have not
found that it works nearly as well. I also refuse to use stiffeners or
chemicals on these bows that will be worn by your little baby!
In my years of making bows, I have tested many adhesives as well to
determine the one that will provide the strongest possible hold.
However, before an adhesive is ever considered, I research it to ensure
that it is certified non-toxic. I have heard of some people using
super-glue, but not here. Besides, the special-ordered adhesive is so
important in how well your bow will hold up to wear. I do not want any
embellishments falling off! Embellishments have their own
requirements. Obviously, they must be cute, frilly, or beautiful. If
they meet these criteria, I take them into consideration. Another
important consideration is longevity. If it is not well made, it will
not last on a clip, so it is not used. Each embellishment is inspected
before use to make sure it is securely sewn and will have a long life
as a hair bow. I want your bows to last, and you should be able to pass
them on when you are done with them. Many embellishments are made by
me, and others are not. Regardless, each is held to the utmost standard
in quality. The processing of your Bitty Bow order would not be
complete without the shipping and customer service. Once again, I want
to provide the best possible. I strive to ship orders within 24-48
hours so that you can receive your order quickly. Of course as a mother
of two young children, I know that surprises happen and naptime (my
worktime) sometimes does not go as planned. With this in mind, I ask
for up to 5 business days to get your custom order made and mailed. If
you look at many custom made products, you will see that it is not
unusual to see a wait time of 2-4 weeks. Suddenly, 5 days at the
longest doesn't seem so bad, and that is worse case scenario. Thank you for taking the time to read about all the hard work that goes into each bow!
