Baby Clip (for near-BALDIES)
Recommended hair needed: fuzz through short, fine hair
My
tiny metal "baby clip" is a unique design, and has a tight hold for
the tiniest amount of short, sparse, and infant fine hair. Near bald babies can wear this clip! (Honest, just see our model!) If she has never been able to wear a bow
before, THIS is the clip to try!
As she gets older, this clip can also
be used over a rubberband, as the size of this clip does not hold a lot
of hair. This is also a super-cute clip to tame flyaways from pigtails
or a ponytail. If she has fuzz like our sweet model, see the tips below
for helpful advice on getting it clipped in. (Please note, the tiniest
fuzz shown is more likely to have the bow pulled or rubbed out.)
**If
she has more than 2 inches of hair from base to tip, read about the
Toddler Snappy Clip and Super Grip Alligator Clip with velvet.**
Velvet Lined Super Grip 'Gator Clip
Recommended hair needed: Very versatile, holding less than 2 inches, as well as large amounts of fine hair.
This
starts with a professional grade 1 3/4" alligator clip, that is
fully ribbon
lined (top and bottom prong), with top quality, special ordered velvet
ribbon. (The pricey velvet ribbon makes a HUGE difference in how well
this holds. These are NOT comparable to other ribbon lined alligator
clips you may have tried--they work much better!) If she has around 2" or more of fine hair, this is a beautiful option.
It holds more hair than my baby clip, and the
velvet fills the gaps of the alligator clip, causing great friction and
a super-tight hold. This truly is a very versatile clip for many
lengths of fine hair.
Because the color options of velvet ribbon are different from our other 3 grosgrain ribbon lined clip types, the velvet clip choices are listed in their own separate category. We are updating this with new additions as fast as we can, but there are still many styles that are available but have not been added to the website. Feel free to contact us if there is a style you are interested in that is not listed on this clip.
Toddler Snappy Clip Recommended hair needed: Minimum 2 inches of fine hair
A
larger version of my baby clip, designed for 2 inches of hair or more.
This is a wonderful alternative for infants and toddlers with more hair
than is necessary for my baby clip. It is light weight, and great for
fine hair. It also works beautifully clipped over a rubberband. This
clip holds more hair than my baby clip, and is versatile as her hair
starts to thicken. This clip is a little longer, and wider (5/8"
instead of 3/8") than my baby clip. Keep this in mind, as the example
pictures shown on my website are shown on my Baby Clip, unless
otherwise noted. On this clip, a little more ribbon lining will show
than on the Baby Clip.
My
Toddler Snappy Clip and my Super Grip Velvet 'Gator Clip both work
really, really well for fine hair. The look is different, so if she has
2" or more hair, pick the
look you like. (The 'gator clip resembles a long barrette, and the
Toddler clip is thicker and shorter.) They both work wonderfully as
no-slip clips!
60mm French Clip
Recommended hair needed: Works best with larger amounts of big girl hair.
The
biggest of my clips, holding the largest amount of hair. This is a top
quality french style clip that will hold lots of hair. Many flowers and
larger bow styles are now offered on this clip to accommodate toddlers
and girls with more hair. When picking your bow/flower style,
remember that unless otherwise noted all pictures are shown on the baby
clip. The baby clip is 1 inch shorter than the French Clip, so more
ribbon lined clip will show than what is in the picture. For this
reason, many people prefer larger flowers with this clip style.
Tips for clipping the Baby Clip and Toddler Snappy Clip without pushing on your little one's head: Slide
the open bottom prong under the hair. (If she has a tiny bit of hair,
look closely for a dense patch of fuzz, increasing your likelihood of
getting it clipped on the first time). Take your thumb, and place it on
the middle underside of the clip, slightly to outer side. With your
pointer finger and middle finger on either side of the top, push down
on the clip. This way, you will be pushing down on your own thumb
instead of her soft little head! This is the best way to get it into
the tiniest bit of fuzz, like our sweet model below. If your little one
has fuzz, it may take a bit of practice to get it clipped, but you will
get the hang of it. It IS possible!
